J. Efunlayo Maxey is an experienced Reiki Master-Teacher and an initiated priest of an African Spiritual system, with 30 years of work experience as a school teacher and administrator. 

Efunlayo has combined these talents and skills to create classes, workshops and a spiritual life coaching practice. All of this has informed her co-founding of the Melanated Reiki Healers Collective. This community of Reiki practitioners, many of whom received Reiki certification from Efunlayo, shares its unique perspective to enhance both the teaching and the practice of Reiki for adults and children.
